IMPORTANCE OF STAYING HYDRATED

There are various signs that are visible  in case you may be dehydrated well you may have muscle cramping, dry mouth, dry skin, or your urine could be a dark yellow color. If you are properly hydrated your urine will be a light yellow and if it is dark that means you need to drink more water.

Now to avoid this we are going to discuss in this article 11 tips that you can do to make sure you stay hydrated. But first of all, let us know why staying hydrated is so important.

Below I have mentioned some of the points that why staying hydrated is really important:

1. A water bottle is a great accessory as water is one of the best ways to stay hydrated because it gets into your body tissues quite quickly.

As mentioned above, our bodies are made up of about 60% water and every system depends on it so it's important for healthy skin, hair, and nails as well as controlling body temperature, heart rate and blood pressure.

2. It is not just water that can keep you hydrated through the day roughly 20% of your daily fluid intake comes from food as well.

The summer is full of great fruits and vegetables and they are full of all kinds of fluids too so it is not just about the stuff that you drink it is also about the stuff that you eat.

Watermelon, strawberries, melons any of those summer vegetables.

3. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are dangerous side effects of overdoing any physical activity during the summer months, they appear when the body can no longer sustain the heat the humidity or loss of fluid.

A good rule is that if you are feeling thirsty you have already become dehydrated definitely it's that people don't feel well they are going to feel really nauseated, they are going to have terrible headaches, they might also have cramps, they are going to notice that they can't concentrate as well they might feel dizzy and so somebody might actually collapse because of dehydration so it is really important to maintain hydration.

4. People get can get dehydrated really quickly and not even realize it is even more important to keep children drinking water.

As the mercury goes up they gain heat faster than adults, kids especially tend to have a greater propensity towards dehydration because of the fact that they have a greater amount of body surface area so they tend to dehydrate more quickly and they actually have higher fluid requirements than adults.

So finally one of the best ways to see how hydrated you are is to monitor fluid loss by checking the color of your urine should be pale yellow and not dark yellow too smelly or cloudy.

TOP 11 TIPS TO STAY HYDRATED

Below I have discussed some of the best tips to stay hydrated and beat that summertime heat. It is important to always keep hydrated throughout your day in this scorching. So let's get started:

1. Not all fluids are created equal: If you are a coffee drinker well I am going to say that drinking coffee dehydrates you so it doesn't really count as a liquid neither do sodas not going to even go there or any kind of seltzer water.

So you really need to have pure water first account as drinking a liquid I always have on my counter in my house with me the daffy filter which has an alkaline filter in it so I'm always drinking the purest form of water.

They are going to help your skin too( my list of 13 fruits for glowy skin), help your immune system they count as liquids too.

3. Drink before, during, and after exercise: As we know that there are people working even in this scorching heat and all we want is to stay fit and active.

It is the best time to be outside and moving your body that means that we need to have extra attention to how much we are taking in to compensate for all that we are sweating out.

Always have with you a tow water bottle now that one you can just tote it around tag it to your bag this is easy to have at the gym, this is easy to have by your side so if you are running on that treadmill you can just stop take a sip easy enough.

4. Drink before you are thirsty: Why do we wait until we feel depleted and like we need something? It's better to keep a balanced level so if you already feel like you need water and you feel like you are dehydrated that means you waited a little too long.

So before you even start to feel thirsty make sure that you're drinking water throughout the day.

5. Check your pee: Look in your toilet see the color of your urine if it is really a concentrated yellow color that is a clear sign or a good clue that you are a little dehydrated.

You want to have it kind of a clear liquidy mellow yellow but really guys check your pee if it's really this like bright lemony color its time to get more fluids in.

6. Make water accessible: Just like if you are trying to practice more yoga I always recommend people to keep your yoga mat out so you see it. While it is more like human psychology.

The same thing with water, if you are trying to stay hydrated throughout the day have your container have your water right there on the counter so you're always seeing it.

7. Give your water a little bit of spice: You can add different flavors to water as it really sounds just so boring. I always love lemon water,  it might sound boring for some people.

But all of the above you can add some fruits, you can add different mint, peppermint is another great one so get creative with the flavors that you want to taste.

Because your body is composed of 60% to 80% of water so keep that hydrated. In the meantime enjoy your summertime.

8. Avoid drinks with added sugar: When you need to grab a drink; grab a glass of water, avoid any fruit juices or caffeinated drinks because they have a tendency to upset the stomach.

Now if you want to drink with electrolytes make sure you read the label because a lot of those drinks have added sugar in them.

Another thing you can do is reach for some fruits and veggies that are high in water such as watermelon strawberries and celery and spinach

9. Drink water when you wake up in the morning: Have a glass of water which is also considered to be a healthy habit and is also the first thing you want to do when you get up.

This will help hydrate your body right off the bat and also help you break that fast that you had while you slept.

Now while you sleep your body actually becomes dehydrated so drinking a glass of water not only gets you hydrated it can also help to increase your metabolism as well as flush out any toxins that may have built up in your digestive system during the night.

10. Use the 8 by 8 rule: As a guide now the 8 by 8 rule simply states that you should drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water for a day.

Now there is no set rule as to how much water each individual person should drink there is a lot of factors that go into play whether how active you are or the foods you are going to be eating.

I mentioned earlier certain foods are rich in water content than others and some processed foods like crackers can actually absorb the water in your system.

So make sure you know what you are going to be doing that day and plan accordingly.

11. Keep the water bottle close to you: Have a water bottle close by when you leave the house in the morning. Take a water bottle fill it up so it is always next to drink.

The main takeaway is to have water next to you so you can stay on track and make sure you're drinking enough water during the day.

TIPS TO DRINK MORE WATER

Staying hydrated might not always come easy to a lot of people. Sometimes I forget to drink water regularly and sometimes I even go half a day without taking a sip of water. This can be terrible for not only our health but for our skin too.

So here are a few tips to make sure you are keeping yourself healthy and hydrated.

1. The main reason that I actually don’t like to drink water is that I hate the taste so my favourite way to make it taste better is to add in some fun flavours like watermelon, cucumber, lemon, and mint. This makes it a much tastier way to quench your thirst.

2. Another alternative to infused water is to drink fruit juices with a high water content like watermelon juice or coconut water

You can even try drinking tea like green tea which will replenish your water supply and make you feel awake and alert as well. These will not only ensure that you drink enough water but they will give you some added nutrients as well.

3. Very often when you feel hungry at odd hours it’s likely that you are actually just thirsty so the next time you are craving a snack, drink a glass of water first.

It will keep you hydrated and fill you up so it will prevent you from eating unnecessary snacks and will help you shed some kilos too.

5. Let’s face it, for a lot of people water, is just boring so make staying hydrated fun by splurging on a cute water bottle or some silly straws. These will surely have you reaching for them more often if it feels like a fun activity.

6. Another reason a lot of people find themselves dehydrated is that they simply forget to drink any water and before you know it the day is over. If you are super busy or very forgetful, set an alarm to repeat every hour to remind yourself that it’s time to rehydrate.

Finally remember that what goes in does come out again so remember to replenish your water supply every time you use the bathroom. Make it a habit to drink a glass of water every time you use the bathroom to ensure that you are always staying hydrated.
