Most people associate habits with a boring routine or mundane ritual. But, healthy habits have the power to actually change your life. 

Just as bad habits can harm you and set you back on your path, good habits can spring you forward - so, don’t let old habits hold you back. 


Start building these simple habits for a healthier and more productive life!

Good daily habits can make a big difference in your overall health and your life. In this article, I am going to share 10 daily habits that can change your life in many different ways.

1. Drink water: Often, you will hear wellness folks saying that when you wake up in the morning, the first thing that you need to do is drink a glass of water with lemon or apple cider vinegar. 

And if you have lemon or apple cider vinegar, that’s great, but I want to simplify it even further and say just drink a glass of water and drink it not only in the morning but at several times throughout the day.

The morning, water will increase the mental clarity and level of alertness, and it will jump-start your metabolism. 

So before you grab a coffee or a tea, drink a large glass of water first, and then make sure to stay hydrated throughout the day.

Water is essential to life, and your body needs it to function properly. As we are sleeping we are not taking it any water and when we wake up we can be mildly dehydrated and when we are dehydrated our fatigue levels go up. 

So a good thing to do is start your morning by getting enough hydration.


2. Replace your caffeinated drinks with an herbal tea: My next healthy habit is to replace your caffeinated drinks with an herbal tea. 

If you are drinking a lot of caffeine like five to six cups per day that can be really dehydrating if you are not drinking enough water. 


You need to drink even more water on top of the like two liters you to drink per day minimum if you are drinking lots of coffee and then it is going to show up in your skin and everything is going to be dehydrated and you are going to get like jittery anxious feeling. 

If you are drinking too much coffee so replace it with herbal teas.

3. Eat healthy fats: The next healthy habits you should do every day is to eat healthy fats. If you are eating healthy fats for like avocados, nuts, coconut oil they are all healthy for you. 

It will actually help your body run better they not only help with skin and hair but also help the insides of your body and can help you lose weight because they satisfy your cravings.

4.  Eat green vegetables everyday: Try to eat something green every day it is a good idea to get some greens on a daily basis especially a variety of greens you are getting a variety of vitamins and minerals. 

Now if you are a beginner the easiest way to add greens to your diet really is smoothies it is the best gateway to get into the habit of eating greens.

5. Get Direct Sunlight: Do you know that getting direct sunlight is also very important? Sunlight on our skin promotes vitamin D3 which is essential for hormone production and bone health. 

Take a few minutes a day and expose your face and arms to some sunshine. The sun is also a great mood enhancer and fights depression. 

In addition, sunlight helps melatonin production for a good night’s sleep.


6. Meditation: Meditate for 10 minutes every day. It can do things like reducing anxiety, it can help you improve your immune function, and it can help reduce pain. 

There is a lot that it can do, the biggest change is mental clarity and will make you feel much calmer.

7. Brisk walk: Go for a brisk walk outdoors every day. It is such a mood booster to get some fresh air. 

To get some sunlight and to be out in the greenery and there are studies that show that exposure to greenery is good for your health. 


The brisk walk is not just a mood booster but it is also the way to exercise for a person who does not enjoy going gym. 

So the walk is great for cardiovascular activity if you are doing a brisk walk or if they’re jogging or running but a well-rounded exercise regimen should include more than just cardio.

8. Laugh Every Day: Laughter is also an important healthy habit for you to develop. It reduces stress chemicals in your body and increases “feel-good hormones.”

It also boosts your immune system! You have to let go of negative emotions to laugh. Therefore, laughter is freedom.

9. Make Time For Exercise:  A healthy diet will assist you to lose body fats, however, it is important to mix it up with sensible nutrition with some physical activities. 

Do aerobics 4 to 5 days per week. As studies have shown that aerobic exercise helps your metabolism to stay at its peak for a long period of time even after you have finished your exercise. 

Physical activities that lower in risk like walking are also going to be very useful. According to research, it is found that a 30 minutes exercise can help you in losing 25% more of your body weight rather than a full one hour of the same.

10. Cook at Home: Developing a healthy habit like cooking at home is important, as you can control the exact nourishment going in your body as well as the quality of ingredients. 

Restaurant meals typically contain higher amounts of sodium, saturated fat, and they just have more calories than home-cooked meals. And let’s be honest, they are usually not starting with high-quality ingredients. 

That’s why studies have shown that people who cook for themselves more often than they eat out tend to be healthier overall.

11. Don’t Eat Late: When you eat late in the evening, you’re probably snacking while surfing the web or watching something. This means you end up eating more than you intend to, racking up additional calories. 

Plus, eating late in the evening requires your body to spend more time digesting, instead of repairing and restoring. As a result, you end up sleeping poorly and then wake up tired. 

Finishing the days' last meal or snack at least two hours before you go to bed, gives your body time to digest the food.


12. Start Reading: Self-education can never be underestimated and it is also one of the prior healthy habits. 

Reading books is a great way to gain knowledge and stimulate creativity. Reading improves to remain focus and has a calming effect which is pretty similar to meditation. 

Non-fiction books, in particular, are an excellent tool to broaden your horizon, develop new ideas, and seek motivation. 


Additionally, they also offer actionable advice on how to overcome all kinds of challenging situations through real-life examples.


13. Get away from your screen: Avoid phones in the one hour before bed because you get mentally stimulated. 

Phones also, emit something known as blue light and that blue light is something that your brain thinks is daylight. So when you are on your phone and that blue light is going to your brain thinks it is not time to sleep. 

Hence it won’t produce melatonin very well and it becomes harder to sleep.

14. Do A Social Media Detox: The digital world has taken over almost every aspect of our lives. 

We are all incredibly connected today with laptops and mobile devices, and it can be so hard to turn off. But that’s exactly why we need to turn it off and make it a priority.

Research shows, that the more time you spend on a social media site, the more likely you are to develop depression. 

While it might be challenging, but it is a good idea to cut back on social media to reduce stress and mental clutter.


15. Take Time for Good Music: Music has amazing effects, such as relieving stress, elevating mood, improving cognitive function, and reducing pain. 

Music stimulates the mind and spirit in a way that nothing else can. The interesting thing is that nature sounds and relaxing music can help reduce stress it can help reduce the stress hormone called cortisol. 

Create a playlist of your favorite songs, put on some headphones, close your eyes, and enjoy!

16. Make sleep a top priority: So speaking of sleep, it truly is one of the most important yet often overlooked factors of staying healthy. 

When we sleep, our brain is repairing and renewing cells, the body is regenerating and producing critical hormones, and our immune system is fighting infections. 

There is a whole lot going on in the body when we are getting shuteye, and that’s why sleep deprivation is tied to so many different health issues. 

For optimal long-term health, sleep needs to be a top priority, and we need to remember that it’s absolutely essential to our emotional and physical well-being.

17. Manage Stress: The simple fact is that we will never live in a world that’s completely stress-free, but we can learn to manage our stress better with practice. 

Meditation, yoga, and acupuncture are great ways to reduce stress and calm both the body and the mind. Even just closing your eyes for five minutes and taking several deep breaths works wonders. 


Sleep and stress are just as important as food in terms of the impact, they have on the body. 

So if you feel your anxiety or your tension level is rising, take that as a signal that you need a quick timeout, and maybe sit down and take a few deep breaths.


18. Slow Down: We live life rushed, acting busy even if we are not busy because it makes us feel like we are accomplishing something. 

If you’re actually extremely busy, it may be time to prioritize your life and cut out a few things that are draining your energy, rather than serving you. 

Enjoying the “now” is a much healthier way to live. Healthy habits for life include enjoying your life.

19. Spend quality time with loved ones: Try to spend quality time with loved ones every day and I want to underline the word quality time because a lot of us end up spending time with our loved ones but we are on our phones and we are not properly engaged with them. 

We are not really talking to them it is not good communication and this happens to everybody it is just the digital age that we live in. 

According to research, cuddling a pet or a human - can help you release oxytocin which is known as the cuddle hormone or the love hormone and it can help reduce stress.

20. Get into Mother Nature: There is this amazing healing and rejuvenating that happens to our bodies when we surround ourselves with green trees, lush grass, and blue oceans. 

The impact on the stress levels could be pretty much immediate, and you just don’t feel any stress or anxiety at that moment. 

When we get out into Mother Nature, not only do our brains get some much-needed downtime, but our bodies will get some vitamin D, and our immune system will get a refresh.

If you’re already doing some of these healthy habits…Great! You’re on the right track. 

Maybe you skimmed through them and realized you’re not doing any of them. Well, today is the first day of the rest of your life, and good habits have the power to change your life for the better. 

Keep in mind that it won’t happen overnight. Experts say it takes 21 days of doing something new for it to become a habit. Being consistent will greatly reward you.
